Taking care of our bodies and minds is very important as it can play a huge part in how we feel about ourselves on a day-to-day basis. Life can be busy sometimes, and so routines can slip, or we can fall into a bit of a rut from time to time. When this happens, it can disrupt everything and leave us feeling not so great! So, it’s a good idea to refocus and spend some time figuring out what will make us feel better about ourselves again.
Go for a run
Whilst pretty much any exercise is good for your body and your mind, running is said to be one of the best. Not only does it keep your heart in tip-top condition, but research suggests that running can create similar effects in the brain to taking medications designed to treat depression. This form of exercise helps mood-improving neurotransmitters such as serotonin to stay in the system for longer, making you feel great during and after your run.
Use good skincare products
As we age, wrinkles and fine lines start to appear, and our skin can lose the youthful radiance it once had. Skin can also become inflamed or red, all of which can knock our confidence and leaving us feeling down.
This is why more and more people are using beauty products that contain CBD oil. CBD is an extract of the hemp plant and contains natural anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce issues such as inflammation or redness, including acne and eczema. We spoke with ULU, a CBD company based in the UK, who advised us that CBD skincare products can also work well on dry skin and as a calming and nourishing daily moisturiser.
Take care of your skin now, and as you get older, you will be thankful that you did!
Drink lots of water
One of the best ways to look and feel great is to drink lots of water. When we are dehydrated, we may feel tired and find it difficult to concentrate. Drinking water regularly throughout the day can make us feel more awake and energised. It is recommended that an average-sized adult should drink around 2 litres of water a day.
If you struggle to drink that amount of water each day, you can use foods to top it up. Vegetables such as cucumber, radishes, and peppers contain over 90% water, so if you are looking for a quick and easy snack, these will hydrate you as well as keeping hunger pangs at bay.
Give your confidence a boost
A lack of self-confidence can happen to any of us at any time. It can cause even the best of us to feel really low. So, taking time to work on your confidence levels could make a huge difference.
Surround yourself with people you love spending time with, let your hair down once in a while, and try some mindfulness techniques such as meditation or gratitude exercises to help develop your confidence.
Mindfulness can help banish negative thoughts and irrational fears and allow you to focus on the here and now. It can also help you to build up resilience to negative thoughts and self-doubts. Once you have broken through the barriers in your mind, your confidence will improve and you will feel amazing.
