disk 2 chapters for the OneLight DVD

The rendering is done. The chapters are set. The masters are being burned. Over a year of planning and 6 months of work and the OneLight DVD is getting shipped to the replication house this week! So we start the pre-sale. Here’s the run down.

Pre-Sale starts this Friday (7/4/9) and will last for 10 days. The pre-sale price is $225 and is slated to ship to you the last week of this month. It will officially go on sale August 1st for $250. After September 1st the price will be $300. As I’ve stated before, you’re getting more than a 2 disc set in a box. We have some great “packing material” for the DVD! Prices do not include shipping or GA resident sales tax.

To get in on the pre-sale, you have to sign up above. You’ll get an email this Friday with a link to purchase. Please add zack@zackarias.com to your spam filter.

I don’t have the Disc 2 montage ready to post at the moment. The Disc 1 montage can be found here. For the meantime you can see the chapter slide above. Isn’t THAT exciting! A chapter menu slide!

Back to finishing the 20 page book insert going along with the DVD.

I’m going to be awake for about 48 hours straight. I’m drinking coffee like its my job.

@Lea – I will not be covering the white seamless on the DVD as the whole thrust of the DVD is using a single light source on the fly. The white seamless typically requires more lights and more planning.

@Remek – I am not a lightroom teacher and I’m learning stuff all the time. I do however show how I go through a shoot, make adjustments, tweak images, and so forth. While shooting the band Skyline Drive I shoot an image that I have an idea for changing up a bit in PhotoShop and I show how I do that.

The montage chapter is a short slide show of images shot with the simplest of lighting tools. During the filming of the DVD I had the creature comforts of production assistants, a high powered strobe and battery pack (AB1600 and Vagabond pack), and Pocket Wizards.

Part of this is because I needed to show some different options, I now use Pocket Wizards exclusively, and when you are filming a DVD, you need help on hand. So the montage is to show images without all that stuff. Just me out there with an umbrella and a light stand and easy stuff like that.

The credits … well, those are funny!

Oh, one thing that has been cut from the DVD set is the interview with me. We were going to make that an Easter egg but disc two went from the planned hour of footage to nearly two hours in run time. I think the final run time for both discs is 3 hours 50 minutes. Not enough room left on the disc for my interview.
