I’m having an amazing time here at Gulf Photo Plus. The Internet sucks here in our building. I can get online a few minutes a day right now. More to come!
Cheers,
Zack
Nice shots. I think the next uber-photographer convention thing should be in Taiwan. No more Dubai’s or Boston’s (or wherever Photoshop World was). We have great food, fast reliable internet and I would be able to go to some of these workshops. Win-win all round.
Amazing, I hope to be in a similar position as you, someday
WOAH!!! That first shot takes my breath away!
excellent work – safe travels.
Love the first shot…beautiful.
Wow, great shots. Is this a larger than normal workshop? Sounds like a fun if not adventurous place to go and do a workshop.
I’ve got to agree that the first photo is breathtaking, I’m also loving the B&W
Great composition and light in the first shot Zak, love the colour schemes and pose and the BW of the tV repairman rocks. looking foreward to more as always, have a grear time shootin it up in Dubai!
Awesome photo of Joe McNally
Glad it’s going well. Stay safe!
Wow, looks like one heck of a trip! Are you an international TV star now?

AWESOME SHOTS!!!

Great shot of Mr McNally. Great stuff all around.
Your first image is stunning. More info on lighting it please.
Hi, my name’s Zack and I’m the coolest mofo in the entire world. I hang with the coolest people in the coolest places & take the greatest photos.
And yes, I am jealous much.
Great stuff, thanks again for sharing.
I was there when the first photo was taken (the one on top).
Thank you so much for a very wonderful workshop. I had fun learning and will put everything i know into use.
I will attend your “GROWING INTO A STUDIO” on april 4th.
Hope you’re enjoying your stay in Dubai.
sam
Have a great stay Zack!
Great first shot.
Robert
McNally looks like, “you came all the way to Dubai, and you’re taking a picture of… me?”
Good on ya Zack. Onward and upward ;o)
Is that a former member of the British Monarchy behind Zack’s head there?
I bet the beard is SLAMMIN’ over there. Don’t come back with a harem, now!
You and Joe?
One light vs. One hundred lights
Rock on!
I hope you stopped off for some amazing Indian food in Satwa while you were there!
Recommended: Ravi’s for their scrumptious Butter Chicken
@Sheri – We went to Satwa to eat at Ravi’s! It was amazing!
Cheers,
Zack
That top photo is awesome!!!!!
I love the image with the TV repair man! He does seem really nice!
Which camera did you take? Are you converting?
Zack got stuff as always are you
Filming your trip in Dubai so we can see what went on with you over there. You know we have to keep up with our “ZACK ARIAS” – Also the BW pic was that Ambient light? Mostly every thing is clear in the shot? P.S. I am having my first Kid in July
All great shots but that portrait of Joe McNally is really great. I can’t stop looking at him…really wonderfull
That first one is stunning and the film crew pic – is that Sarah Ferguson?!
Hey Zack,
Great to eventually meet up with you and your hardworking/keen/friendly studio manager Eric. I’m truly amazed to see your appreciation of all that turned up for your classes at Photo Friday – you looked almost shocked!
Keep up the great work and no doubt you’ll have a blast after the event and before your return home. Can’t wait to see more posts of all your desert adventures. Hopefully you’ll show us all a flipside with One Light as opposed to Joe’s Speedlight Tree.
Really hope you can do more One Light shows on the road (Worldwide).
PS – what was all that breaking glass over at Vista’s last night, I guess just a bit of jetlag and being overworked!!
Have a Blast, Nigel
@zack Yess! And I can see now that it’s in fact the Ravi’s sign behind Joe McNally
Thanks for an amazing workshop. My learning curve suddenly shows a spike in activity now.
Learning never been easier. Some of my best portraits to date:

Got to say that the lighing is incredible in the top photo here. Stunning mix.
The Shot of joe just makes me laugh. I am not sure why but he just looks like such a “Guy”. For those that do not the “guy” look is what my wife and daughter ease me about when you get the gassed over no clue in life look.
Zack was indeed in the company of British Royalty….I’d bet money that is Sarah Ferguson behind him as she was just in Dubai. Check her website info for details:
