Cool!
But no offense…I was pulling for Caleb!
Seriously, congrats to all for some fine shooting. And for making me do a GOYA myself!
I was pulling for the little one, oh well.
In My Opinion, Robin Rocked it!! And Caleb, WOW! but you all captured some amazing shots! Must have been a blast
Hmmmm I detect some voter fraud
Congrats Zack! Sheri I was pulling for you. I’m sorry Zack is crazy.
Sherri did the counting!
Hmmm…
My heart sank a bit when reading about the Photoshop manipulation – am I the only one?
Don’t get me wrong…cool image. I was trying to work out htfiwd for ages – cos I was thinkin’ in camera.
More of a montage innit?
hmm…i voted for B.
I demand a recount!
Just kidding – it was fun and, let’s face it, it wouldn’t be fair if I beat Zack, right? Because then he’d have to make *my* coffee each day… oh wait, he *does* make the coffee.
The sad truth of this is that Zack had his OneLight bully boys stationed outside of every voting booth to ensure things went his way.
They were easy to spot…dressed like 1940s newsboys with floppy caps and knee high socks…their weapons of choice, slingshots and flashcubes, slung casually by their sides.
A flash of some yellow teeth and low whispered “the lunch menu today is featuring knuckle sandwiches for those people not wise enough to vote for Photographer B” is all it took.
Poor Robin, Sherri, and Caleb didn’t have a chance.
I seriously love that diptych. I just finished piecing together an pentaptych myself. There is something so wonderful about multiple images becoming one piece! Love yours very much. Great use of the primary colors :] Calming, yet thought provoking.
I know what you mean JDR. I often feel that if I don’t get it in camera then I don’t get it at all.
I don’t discount post production. I know some folks who make amazing work that can never be done in camera… but I’m just that ol’ straight shooter from film days who was brought up on photojournalism so my brain is just wired to get it in camera or don’t get it at all.
But hey, it’s just a fun day of shooting in the fog. I have to learn to let go of my own rules some time and just try something new.
Cheers,
Zack
Conratulations Zack & enjoy your lunch.
Nothin wrong with some old skool photoshopping when you know what your limits r and what image you want to cre8.
Loved this image right away.
I find this soooo interesting! Thanks for putting this up!
@JDR + @zack….what’s the prob if Photoshop helps you realise your artistic vision? It’s not like it was a photojournalism assignment anyway that demanded 100% faithfulness.
Photoshop is just a tool and, frankly, you could still make that flipped image in the darkroom with film anyway
Hmm, well i’ll be damned on who was who…
Zack if you’re training the Intern… wow.
Zack, my fav. was the last one of your series, the crossing the street one, really seems like an incredible candid of street photography, a bit like those posters of the skyscraper builders on their construction in b/w style.
Robin i really love your shots, that first shot with the kids on the bike and the wood structure well hmm, wicked simply wow
Caleb for 10 years old if you follow the knowledge your old man is sharing with the world, and with the vision you have well i sincerely feel sorry for the others racing to get “into focus” young man
sherri, i really like your 2nd shot, the one with the bush as a foreground… nice composition and inspiring on black & white shots.
Basically just a little word to thank you all for the fun of allowing us to vote on it, and for the aim of the GOYA projects, something to do with photographer friends around our areas.
Have a wonderful Christmas, blessings from switzerland and thanks for sharing along the year… you seem to be a wicked bunch
Caleb.. You did an AMAZING job!! I loved your pics. Keep up the good work!
