My friends Iain (upper right hand photo) and Jamie (lower left hand photo) came in this week for some images they need for their company
Ticket Alternative. These guys are giving folks like Ticket Master a run for their over charged convenience fee money!
Iain is one of the first guys I met when I entered the Atlanta music scene as a full time working photographer. We have collaborated on a number of projects since then and I had the pleasure of shooting his wedding a few years ago.
Cheers,
Zack
I love any company that will give Ticketmaster a run for their money.
Kudos to them. Great photos as well.
one of these things is not like the other.
I love your shots dude..no doubt..but I have a question..why the big radial flash on the wall of the shot of the two guys against the red background?
Rad style Zack – it’s perfect for what they do
Hey Will,
I loved the wall in their office but dang it all, it’s glossy and I couldn’t get a light on them without that spot… so when in Rome…
Ya know, you do everything you can to avoid glare and all that as a photographer. Then some days you just say “F’ it. I’m going to make a big ass spot of glare! Screw the rules.”
Cheers,
Zack
I’m guessing you might have shot at high frame rate for those flying ticket shots? If so, what light did you use that was able to keep up at those speeds?
-Jav
@Jav – They were shot with a ring flash. You’ll see some blur on some of them.
Cheers,
Zack
These are great!
I really like the blur on the tickets….it creates motion!!! so it doesn’t look like the tickets were ps’ed into the scene.
I hope they do exceptionally well. Maybe Congree or somebody will decide that the TicketMonster-LiveNation-TciketsNow conglomerate is effectively a monopoly and bust them up.
Great shots too.
What ringlight are you using? I have the Alien Bees ABR and love it, but the damn thing does not work consistently. Had it repaired once and it still is not reliable. My AB 800′s are workhorses and never let me down. Maybe my ABR is just a lemon. That will teach me to wait until the bugs are worked out!
Love your work, by the way.
GREAT IDEA! I can’t wait to buy a ticket through those guys instead of ticketbastard.
I love the falling tickets… awesome! =)
The idea with the tickets is awesome!
well done!
