I will be giving the keynote speech at PhotoCamp Utah this weekend. You will be able to find the webcast at uStream on March 20th at 3:30pm Utah time. I think that’s mountain time isn’t it? Pretty sure about that. I’ll twitter it and stuff.

I’m really grateful to everyone who has been involved in getting this together and I’m humbled and honored to be a part of it. Personal thanks to Jeremy Hall for all of his work getting me out there.

In other news. Look at that photo of me. I’m such a dork.

Cheers,
Zack

Oh well I give up on spelling.

  6. Hey Zack,

Congrat’s on the Keynote; I’ll keep ‘em peeled for that (whatever time Utah equates to in the UK) :o )

Seems like 2010 is becoming quite a year with all the speaking/guest appearances; congratulations to you…you deserve every bit of the success!

    All the best to you,
    Glyn

ps> I’m saying nothing about the photo of you :)

  7. Wow – you look so “happy” to be having your photo taken… Will your talk be archived somewhere for people to see after the event?

  9. Very excited that you are coming out to PhotoCampUtah! The Utah Photo scene is pretty amazing thanks to a whole lot of photogs who love to share their knowledge. Love your stuff…looking forward to hearing what you have to share.

“Will your talk be archived somewhere for people to see after the event?”

My understanding is the keynote will be live streamed but also archived for future viewing. Keep an eye on http://photocamputah.com or follow PhotocampUtah on twitter (http://twitter.com/PhotocampUtah).

  16. Excited for you to come teach us your magic.

  17. Looking forward to seeing you live tonight at the mixer and Saturday at Photocamp. Thanks for coming into town.

  18. Zack,

I’m so stoked that you’re speaking at PhotoCampUT. Wish I was attending the OneLight workshop.

I’ve been following you since last August, when I was pointed to your short film “Transform” for the second time, and all the things that went on around that time via your blog. (Funny how things hit you differently based on your life experience and where you are).

You are an inspiration– thank you for being who you are (and thanks to Meg for her part in that).

    See you Satuday!

    Mike

  19. Zack, your remarks at the mixer were great. Creating a niche really hit home with me. Thanks for coming out and supporting PhotoCamp Utah!

  20. Looking forward to photocamp, you have everyone buzzed!

  21. Looking forward to the keynote Zack! PCU2009 was a blast, 2010 will be incredible! Thanks for coming out.

Glyn – we are GMT -6:00 so if you know where you are in respect to Greenwich Mean Time …

  22. Woot! Very excited to see you and all the others tomorrow! VERY excited. Thanks for coming.

  23. It was too early to wake up.. 6am here on saturday.. (okay I admit, I was in the bar yesterday)

If the clip ends up in youtube please post the link..

    ..
    ouh same what Glyn said.

  24. damn thats ….. 6 pm in toronto ? iv got to be at work :( will you be able to save a recording ?

  25. Thank you so much for taking the time to come and speak at PhotoCamp Utah. Your keynote presentation was entertaining, but more importantly, inspiring. I especially appreciated your message on the importance of family first. I’d spent most of the day beating myself up because I can’t dedicate more of my time to my art. Thanks for reminding me that it’s okay. There will be plenty of time in the future for me to work on my art, but never enough time to enjoy my children as they grow all too quickly.

  26. The saved video is up here :) http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5594836

  27. For those looking for the keynote…

  28. Thanks for the presentation yesterday! Audio was great, but video was a bit poor. Will you make the slides available for online viewing or download?
    Cheers from Switzerland,
    Tilman

  29. Zack-
I just watched your keynote presentation and it was absolutely FANTASTIC. It’s hard to believe that you once had to “freaking learn how to talk to people”…:) .
You’re a true inspiration. I read a book by Eckhart Tolle called “The Power Of Now” (it’s not a spaced out book…it’s not about positive thinking..it’s about being present in the now) and I think I understand why people learn so much from you on so many different levels. You go beyond photography…I love that!
    best wishes from Hamburg, Germany,
    Ben

  30. Zack-
Just watched your keynote presentation on UStream today as it wasn’t working well yesterday during your live talk. You did an excellent job. I never would have pegged you as the shy guy but wanted to thank you for your words of encouragement and transparency. You’re a blessing to the craft and an inspiration to us all.
    Best,
    Eric

  31. For us who missed out the live stream..

  32. Great talk – motivated to make the most of my college newspaper portrait that I’m shooting here in an hour and a half.

  33. Wonderful and inspiring speech. Thanks a lot for sharing your insights and knowledge.

I too had to give up the live transmission because of the dropouts, but I just saw the recorded version – twice.

  34. Watched the Keynote once streaming had finished, very informative and comical.

  35. Really great talk Mr Arias.
Thanks for sharing so much of yourself to the world.
It must be a good feeling to have inspired an Englishman (Living in Sweden) to pick up the phone and call a model (M Mayhem) and start to plan the biggest shoot of his life?

  36. dude, you look tired in that photo! or maybe just pissed.

  37. Thanks to the PhotoCamp people and to yourself for making your keynote available on the internet. I am stoked, not only by the inspiring content of your talk, but also by your powerful and witty presentation – there is so much to learn from you on all levels, thank you for sharing it.

  38. watched the stream via a link from Dave Nightingale… great stuff :)

  39. I didn’t get a chance to talk to you in person at the event so I thought I would do it here. I really enjoyed what you had to say and I admire your work ethic and abilities. I refer people from iStockphoto often to your lessons on isolation. Great stuff.

  40. Hiya Zack!

I have watched your DVD about 100 times now and i just have one question in relation to your camera setting that wasn’t expalined on the dvd. What White balance mode do you use? Auto? Manual?

    cheers mate
    Mars

  41. Flash WB

  42. Nice talk. Left with a positive vibe and uplifted. You area a good speaker. I see now what you are alluding to by describing yourself as a hand talker.

  43. Greeting Zack,

I have been following your work, since I also wanted to start as a music photographer.

I just finished watching your PhotoCamp Utah talk and was excellent.

You talked about very important things not just for photography but for life.

And I’m sure you’re gonna do the Rolling Stones one day.

    Cheers from Colombia, South America.
