It’s been a weird week.
• Friday – Meg and I flew to San Francisco where I was supposed to shoot a wedding with Marc.
• Saturday AM – I got the call that I needed to get on home to say goodbye to Dad. We are told he won’t make it till Monday. That’s when we were supposed to be flying home. Thank you Cliff for covering our butt at the wedding on Sunday.
• Saturday PM – Meg and I have a chance to meet up with photo pals Ann, Gene, Jose, and Joel which means we didn’t go to bed really. Jose & Joel are awesome. Nice meeting you fellas BTW. Meg and I get back to the hotel at 2am or something stupid.
• Sunday AM – We leave the rental car with Marc. Meg and I catch the first flight home to Atlanta at 6am.
• Sunday PM – Stand around my Dad’s hospital bed all evening talking about what a remarkable recovery from the edge of death he is making.
• Early Tuesday AM – Called to the hospital. Numbers are dropping fast.
• Wednesday PM – Stand around my Dad’s hospital bed all evening talking about what a remarkable recovery from the edge of death he is making.
• Thursday – Shoot with Holiday Parade. Lady flashes her rock boobs at us.
I wonder what the weekend will bring.
Cheers,
Zack
Awesome shot! Looks like a fun shot. Best wishes for the weekend
Thanks!
Hey Zack,
Seems like you are on a real rollercoaster of a ride at the moment. Life is strange huh!
I understand the chaos…im going thru the same thing with my granny who did alot of my raising. I did a photo story…it helped.

I wish you and your family peace and comfort. smiles, Yvette
Zack,
You don’t know me, but I went through exactly what you’re going through with your dad. It’s the worst feeling in the world. Being called in to say goodbye is so awful, you can’t even explain it to people. And then having the person you love get better. For a second or two. You’re thrown around like a rug, with no chance to defend yourself. All I can say is I know how incredibly tough it is. Been there, hated that.
Know those times… my grandma left us suddenly… my grandpa not.
He had have several kinds of cancer and the docs gave him about one year. In that year he had been real close to the dead, but when we stood around his bed, praying, crying, telling him stories – herecovered and went on another year.
It’s that hard… in his mind he was totally ok, but his body not – it’s that unfair…
I’m very thankful for that mercyful time he could share with us – so keep up your hope. There is always a time for miracles…
Best wishes,
Henry
