When it comes to looking younger medical spa treatments are a great nonsurgical way to make your skin more attractive and beautiful. But not all facials are the same and you are here to find out if a HydraFacial is right for you.

A HydraFacial MD is one of the most effective treatments you can get. Although the procedure can be done on any skin, most people choose the face, neck, and hands.

HydraFacials are typically used to get rid of blemishes on the skin like dark spots and rough areas.  It has become a popular treatment to get for brides before their wedding day.  In Hollywood, many of the famous actresses refer to it as the Hollywood red carpet facial since many stars get it before stepping out during awards season.

Courtney Gray of Austin explains, “My skin not only looked younger at my first treatment but the skin itself was much moister and soft to the touch.  I could see a noticeable difference which made the facial worth it.”

The treatment is usually performed by an estheticians or a medical professional.  The HydraFacial MD by Edge Systems is a vacuum-based skin abrasion that is attached to a monitoring station.  In the first part, the skin will be exfoliated using special serum to remove the dead skin.  The next step is a chemical peel that removes the top layer of skin to provide that youthful looking skin.

How Much does a HydraFacial Cost?

Prices vary from medical facilities and spas, but generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from $125 to $200 for a 30-minute treatment.  Austin based Viva Day Spa charges $150 for a HydraFacial treatment and $199 for a 45-minute treatment.

Although the cost can be expensive, most ladies feel it’s completely worth it. This is why we spend more on facial products than any other part of their body. We all want to look good.

Does a HydraFacial Hurt?

Hydrafacials are non-invasive, which means the skin is not punctured and you can walk out of the treatment and return to work that day. Although everyone reacts differently, most people have no discomfort or respond in a negative way to the procedure.

“I’ve never felt any pain why getting a Hydrafacial.  When the procedure starts, it feels like a high powered vacuum running over your skin but doesn’t hurt at all.  I’m very relaxed when I get mine done,” explains Courtney Gray.

How long does the treatment last?

Most patients that get a HydraFacial see improvement right away.  The treatment can be addicting as most like the way their skin looks for weeks afterward.  Because of this some monthly schedule treatments to keep those looks going.

Most Spas Upsell Products

Like any treatment nowadays there are add-ons and upsells that come along with the procedure.  Some spas may offer a DermaBuilder or a skin firmer of some sorts.  Not all spas are the same, and some utilize heavy sell tactics to pad their bottom line.  Just know up front if you are willing to pay for the additions.

Alternatives to HydraFacials

Some people may choose other types of facial including a chemical peel, microneedling, or the OxyGeneo which is a super facial that adds skin oxygenation.

Courtney adds, “I’ve had regular facials and Hydrafacials now, and hands down the Hydrafacial makes my skin look ten times better.”

Facials have become a popular spa service in the past five years.  The HydraFacial MD has quickly become the leading facial treatment for the deep work it provides and how it makes people look and feel.  Most spas these days offer multiple facial options so you can see what might work best for your skin.
