Some people really have a problem maintaining their health. But, it doesn’t automatically mean that it’s their fault. Health problems can be due to genetics, or maybe a negative work and/or home environment, or even because of an unforeseen accident.

The good news is that you can choose from these alternative solutions so that you can stay and feel healthy at home or in the workplace.

Normalize Your Eating Patterns

Sometimes, your health problems could be simply caused by bad eating habits. In this case, if you’re the type who skips meals for whatever reason, then don’t be surprised if your stomach complains halfway through the morning. Skipping meals will result in an acidic stomach, which can be agonizing for you.

So, the first step to maintaining your health is to stick to normal eating patterns, which means eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner on time. Your stomach acidity could just be a sign that your body needs food.

Stretch It Out

Before you pick up your phone to set an appointment with your doctor, take the time to do a bit of stretching first. Your muscles and other body parts need that.

For instance, if your lower back is killing you, then you probably have weak abdominal muscles. As a form of relief, you can try a simple stretch by bending over and trying to touch your toes. You’ll be surprised how good that feels. Then proceed to stretch other body parts as well. Also, exercise coupled with stretching is always a good idea to get into shape.

Relieve Your Chronic Pain

Some people suffer from chronic pain, which can really diminish your effectiveness at work or keep you from relaxing at home. As an alternative to regular pain medication, you can opt to try Cannabidiol (CBD) instead. However, just be sure that you’ve consulted your doctor and that you know how CBD is taken before you try it.

Take Multivitamin and Multimineral Supplements

Some health conditions might sound threatening when you’re first diagnosed with them. But they might be simply caused by a lack of nutrition. So, examine your diet closely to know if you’re getting the right nutrients that you need daily.

Nutrition-related problems can be addressed by taking the right vitamins and minerals. Here are some nutrients and the health problems they can be good for:

  • Vitamin C – Boosts your immune system; thus, it’s good for people who tend to come down with colds
  • Vitamin E – Ideal for people who have dull skin.
  • Calcium – Strengthens your bones, so this is good for people who have osteopenia or osteoporosis.
  • Iron – Boosts your red blood cells, so anemic people could benefit from this nutrient.

Taking a complete multivitamin and multimineral supplements will probably nip these and other health disorders in the bud, too, so they don’t get out of control.

Deep Breathing Does Work

Yoga is a form of exercise that encourages deep and mindful breathing. But, if you don’t have any time to do yoga or you don’t have a yoga instructor, then you might just need to spend some time deep breathing in a clean, quiet corner at work.

Get a seat, sit back, elevate your feet a bit, and breathe deeply. When you exhale, breathe out the air slowly. You’ll find that this helps clear your head of negative thoughts and makes you feel more relaxed. Your tendency to develop hypertension will also be alleviated.

Plants Are Your Friends

There’s a growing trend in both homes and offices to incorporate plants indoors. This is no fad—having plants indoors helps lower blood pressure (partly because they’re green and partly because plants emit oxygen, which you need) and helps lower hypertension. Some plants are better than others at absorbing toxic chemicals in the air, too, which is a bonus.

If you don’t have space for plants on your desk, you could create a small space for a mini-garden at home or ask your supervisor if this is possible in the office. You can take a break in that mini-garden for 15 minutes just to look at the plants. You could also do some gardening there.

Final Thoughts: Your Health Is Your Priority

These alternative solutions may sound commonsensical, but you may be surprised how well you will feel if you follow them. Sometimes, all you need is to follow common-sense solutions so that your health will improve, allowing you to look and feel much better on a daily basis.
